Membership

CILC is committed to supporting academic institutions that offer interdisciplinary learning communities and other related pedagogies.  Since its founding in 2002, CILC has sponsored open houses showcasing LC programs and practices at various colleges in the Chicagoland area as well as hosted faculty retreats for curricular and staff development. More recently, member institutions have received discount registration fees for the annual CILC Symposium, used CILC in-house experts for on-campus seminars (more information on additional institutional benefits can be found here), received evaluations of on-going campus LC initiatives, received specific calculations of financial gains that their specific institution could realize through LCs and the resulting increase in student retention, and had individual consultations with campus LC coordinators and CILC in-house experts.  We also work directly with The Washington Center on assessment and other initiatives and support the national Learning Communities Association.

We hope you will consider joining our consortium at the institutional level of $150 for one year or $425 for three years.  Becoming an institutional member will allow all faculty and administrators from your college or university to participate in CILC activities at a reduced fee.  Further, member institutions may send representatives to participate on our Executive Committee, which directs the activities of the consortium.  For those institutions with a smaller group of interested parties, individual memberships are also available at $15 per person for one year or $40 for three years.

Simply complete the CILC Membership Form and return it with your check, made out to CILC, by Jan. 31, 2024.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Charles Pastors, CILC Executive Director, at cpastors@att.net.
